Bangalore Palace is situated in Bengaluru, India. It was built by Rev. Garret, who was the first Principal of the Central High School in Bangalore, presently called the Central College. It is near Mount Carmel Institute of Management, Palace Cross Road, Vasant Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka-560052. It was opened in 1944. Kempe Gowda was the architect.
The upkeep of the gardens was the responsibility of the famous horticulturist Gustav Hermann Krumbiegel.
The palace grounds have convention hall which can be hired by any private citizens for marriages and functions. Within the huge campus there is also a horse riding school.
The British presented this Coat of Arms to the Mysore Maharaja Chamaraja Wadiyar X. In the center is the mythological two headed bird Ganda Bherunda which was the emblem of the Wadiyar’s. This emblem is flanked by another mythological animal which has the head of an Elephant and of Lion which symbolizes power and royalty.

Entry ticket has been priced at an expensive Rs. 225/- for Indian visitors and Rs.450 for foreign visitors. Fee for taking an ordinary camera is a whopping Rs.675/- and Rs.1405/- for a camcorder, the highest I have ever paid in India or abroad. The management must be really in need of money as after having visited this Palace I can say that both those tickets are highly over priced.
