On this day, one hundred years back, on March 11, 1915, Rifleman Ait Singh Gurung (#4230-2nd King Edward’s Own Gurkha Rifles [The Sirmoor Rifles]), Sepoy Bachitar Singh (#4626- 59th Scinde Rifles [Frontier Force]), Sepoy Ram Sarup (#2435 – Jats), Sepoy Makhmad Ali (#4361-59th Scinde Rifles [Frontier Force]) and 109 other Indian soldiers died fighting at Neuve Chapelle, France.
